The fortnightly social of the Cheerio Club was held this week. Competition winners were Mrs. Rawley, 31 rs. Reading and Miss Rawley. The pianists for the dancing and items were Mrs. Forrest and Mrs. Moberlv. Others taking part iu the entertainment were Mrs. Franklin, Mrs. Hill, Airs. Atl'ord. Mr. and Mrs. Wool ley and Mr. Crawford.

Members of the Otorohanga Croquet Club and a number of friends were entertained by Mrs. Seymour Ollivcr at her residence in Hinewai Street on Wednesday afternoon. Competitions were played on the lawn, the winners being Mrs. Dalziel. Mrs. Diamond, Mrs. Morrison, Mrs. McCreadv and Mrs. McDonnell. The president, Mrs. I.'. Barkie, at the afternoon tea interval thanked Mrs. Olliver for her hospitality.
