Court. The case was first brought to the notice of the police by a farmer of Reporoa, who had employed Gothcrp as a milker, • and who found a number of his cows about the puddock with their "♦tails'partly severed,! Accused disappeared after this discovery and was not seen again ur.til interviewed by the police a considerable time later. When charged to-d'ay he pleaded not guilty. In evidence the farmer descrilted accused as a very bad-tempered man.
