A British Army ofliccr stationed at Singapore has just married ft Saigon the daughter, of the director of French Indo-China's "Devil's Island," Pulan Condore, 100 miles ofF the coast of Indo-China. He met her when he •landed at tlio island while sailing alone in a three-tou yacht from Singapore to Saigon. The officer is Lieutenant Ivan Lvon, of tho 2nd Battalion, Cordon Highlanders. Ho is the eldest son of Briga-dier-General Francis Lyon and Mrs. Lyon, of Farnham, England, 1 lie / brido is Gabrielle, younger el a tighter of M. Claude and Mine. Bouvier. yoyaging alone from Singapore to Sa.gon, Lieutenant Lyon ran a little off course and arrived at the island, on which it is usually forbidden to land; Ho was the guetit of his bride's lumily for a week before continuing his voyage. A keen yachtsman, Lieutenant Lyon was a member of the crew of tho 12ton Australian yacht Kewarra on a voyage from Singapore to Australia at tho epd of 1937.
