THEFT AND BOOKMAKING [KftOM OUR OWN CORRKSPONDENfI HAMILTON, Thursday "You will have to be taught a lesson," said Mr. S. L, Patersoll,,S.'M.J in the Hamilton Police Court to-day, when convicting Willinui Louis Guillefnot; aged '25, a labourer, on .charges of failing to report to a probation officer, theft, and carrying on business 'us a bookmaker. On the first charge lie was sentenced- to three months' imprisonment, and on the second he was sentenced to 14 days' imprisonmentj the terms to be concurrent. On the third charge he was discharged. Detective J. , Mayes said , that j in August of last year accused was working at the dairy factory at Matangi and was sharing a morn with .another man. Guillemot had taken his coat'and there was no possibility of it being recovered. Regarding the bookmaking charge, Detective Hayes said that when accused was arrested two double charts for coming race meetings vv6rO' found in- his possession.
