MORATORIUM GRANTED
NETHERLANDS BANKERS AMSTERDAM, Aug. 14 The famous Netherlands banking firm of Mendelssohn and Company, which suspended payments on August 11 after the death of the senior partner, has been granted a moratorium on payments. Tlie company's deficit is £0:12,000. The trouble was thought to be due to the bank having accepted sole responsibility for a number of French Government issues, which later proved impossible to place in Holland.
