RETENTION OF SYSTEM FARMERS' RESOLUTIONS . . Resolutions favouring the retention of tho guaranteed price scheme for dairy produce and the present system of marketing were adopted at the annual meeting of the Northern Wairoa Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, and a meeting of farmers in the Taupalci district callot], bv the local branch of tho Farmers' Union. Both resolutions supported the recommendation of tho Guaranteed Price Advisory Committee for the 1938-39 season, plus increased costs incurred since the report was made.

The Tnupaki meeting also passed a resolution protesting against the Government's action in increasing petrol prices. The resolutions are to be forwarded to the Government and the Leader of tho Opposition, the Hon. A. Hamilton. The Northern Wairoa resolution is to bo circulated to all dairy companies and Farmers' Union branches. COMPENSATION NECESSARY INCREASED FARM COSTS [FROM OUR OWN COURESrONDENTj TE AWAMUTU, Sunday The report to be presented at tho annual meeting of the To Awamutu Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, states that any proposal that, the principles of the guaranteed price system should be abandoned, without some alternative proposal from the Government to compensate the dairy farmer for the increased costs which lie has been called upon to bear during the past three years, cannot he seriously entertained by the industry. CONTINUATION FAVOURED COMMITTEE'S BASIS WANTED [nV TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] KAITAIA, Saturday Tho following resolutions were carried at the annual meeting of the Orurn-Fairburn Dairy Company:— That this meeting is in favour of the continuation of a guaranteed price, and urges upon the Minister that the price for tho present season be fixed on tho basis recommended by tho advisory committee. Tli at this ■ meeting protests against the increase in tho price of petrol, as such will add materially, to form costs.
