DRAMA ON SKYE
In " Cliilrlron of tho Fnnin " Miss Merle K.vles convoys almost uncannily Ihe feeling of the sea in the background, wielding its fascination and power over the inhabitants of the Islri of Sikye In the somoivhat involved story one is always conscious of it. 'l'lio time is New Year's Eve. Klsppth, tho minister's wife, is giving a party, and of the eight characters, meeting there that night, the stories are told. An interesting, if difficult, method of narrative. But Miss levies makes us feel that she has sensed the drama in the lives of the island dwellers.
