OBITUARY

MR. J. P. JENSEN [from OCR OWN correspondent] MORKIXSVILI.E. Tuesday The death has occurred of Mr. Jens Peter Jensen, aged 7.'}. He was a wellknown farmer in the Taluina district for -0 years. The eldest son of a pioneering Scandinavian family, Mr. Jensen came io the Marton district as a lad with bis parents about Go years ago. He lived at Halcombe, Kimbolton, Inglewood and again at. Kimbolton before coming to Taluina in 1919. Mr. Jensen was a member of the old Tahuna Drainage Board and when the Thames Valley Drainage Board was formed be became* the Tab una representative until he resigned on account, of ill health. Mr. .Jensen is survived hv five sons and three daughters MR. MARTIN ERKELL [from 01* II OWN correspondent] HAMILTON, Tuesday The death occurred in Hamilton today of Mr. Martin Erkcll, senior overseer in the telegraph engineer's branch of the Post and Telegraph Department, aged 01 years. Mr. Erkcll was born at sea and followed a seafaring life until he was 25. He came to Now Zealand in 1907 and joined the Post and Telegraph Department in Wellington. He worked in various parts of New Zealand and moved from Napier to Hamilton four years ago. He is survived by bis wife and one son. MRS. M. J. LAMB [BY TKIiKORAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] WHANGAREI. Tuesday The death lias occurred at Tangihua, Whangarei, of Mrs. Mary Jane Lamb, aged SO. widow of the late Mr. Patrick Lamb. Born in Ireland, Mrs. Lamb as a young woman went to Australia, landing at Brisbane, where,she married. Some years later she came to New Zealand with her husband, who was a school teacher at Auckland and Nelson before taking up hotelkeeping in the Northern Wairoa district. Mr. and Mrs. Lamb later commenced farming at Tangihua. Mrs. Lamb is survived by four sons and four daughters.
