THE WATERWORKS LOAN HIGHER RATE OF INTEREST The Local Government Loans Hoard has advised the Northcote Borough Council that it is arranging with iho Treasury Department to proceed with the issue of an Order-ill-Council amending ibe rate of interest on the waterworks loan to -II per cent. It was decided at a meeting of the borough council last night to authorise the borough engineer to call tenders for the building of a water reservoir. The question of renewing the lease for a further term of the (Jold-ITolc property from the Lands and Survey Department has been deferred. The Labour Department advised that the subsidy for men employed under scheme L't would be at the rate of ]os a week. This would operate as from .Tune 29 and the matter would be again reviewed in three months
