WOMEN'S PROGRESS CLUB

An interesting debate, "That women are as capable as men in public positions" was held by members of the Women's Progress Club on Wednesday afternoon at the Higher Thought Temple. For the negative, which won the debate, the speakers were Miss Pilkington, Mrs. J. Pierce and Mrs. S. Clarkson. For the affirmative the speakers were Mrs. Drake, Mrs. A. Morris and Mrs. J. Diggle. Items by the Temple Orchestra and a contralto solo by Mrs. Margaret Cooper were enjoyed. A shoulder posy was presented to Mrs. Cooper by the president, Mrs;. Charles Dickens. Hostesses for tga were Mrs. A. Jenkins, Mrs. Green, Mrs. Deveriek and Mrs. C. Fish.
