LAPSED AWARD REPLACED [BY TKLEGIIAPH —PHKSS ASSOCIATION*] WELLINGTON, Thursday An Order-in-Council issued to-night sets out the wages and conditions of workers in the northern industrial district employed by market gardeners, soft fruit growers, nurserymen and landscape gardeners. Tho order replaces the award which lapsed some time ago. The provisions relating to hours and conditions come into force of:i May 29. The rates of wages came into force on January 23 last by agreement between the parties. They provided substantial increases of wages, from £3 16s in the case of male adults to from £4 to £4 10s. In the case of female workers the new rate is £2 4s, compared with £2 under the award.
