C. .Collins, was defeated in tlia second round 3 and 2 by W. M. Robb. Ho played well, but was one down at tho turn. Then there was an exchange of wins and losses, but when Robb took the 14th with a birdie four ho was two up again. Robb also won the 15t,h, when Collins was bunkered, and the game finished at the next with a half. The Irish champion, James Brticn, defeated L. Crawley 4 and 2. The title-holder C. Yates (United States) defeated D, Cameron 2 and 1, and Hector Thompson, winner in 1936, beat A, Me Nairn 2 and 1.
