ARRIVAL FROM OVERSEAS EFFECT ON LABOUR MARKET The advertised inquiry overseas for skilled tradesmen is having the effect of attracting largo numbers of un " skilled labourers from Australia an elsewhere to the Dominion. These m en are (swelling the ranks of the unemployed., according to employers, who comment upon the high percentage o inquiries they are receiving£;for employ* ment from recent arrivals from over* seas. ; , While no official information on t subject is obtainable, the tendency been apparent for some time. 1 Aorangi brought quite a large n« her oi ! labourers from Australia on JV ° " day, and the Rangitata recel l £ brought labourers from' Southern land.
