DROWNING OF STOCK
ANIMALS FALL IN RIVER DRINKING WATER SHORTAGE [by telegraph—own correspondent] WHANGAREI, Tuesday Several head of stock hare been fist when attempting to drink from Northern Wairoa River. The animals have fallen into the river and have been drowned. . Practically all sources of drinking water for animals have dried up, so they are being forced to drink from the river. In most parts the banks art not suitable for stock to negotiate. The latest loss reported is that of a valuable faim horse owned by Mr* F. C. Clarke, of Tangiteiroria, which was drowned, although attempts wcra made to get it out of tho water.
