ALL-AGED PLATE SUCCESS OF HIGH CASTE DEFEAT BY READING AVENGED (Received April 12, 8.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, April 12 The feature of the third day of the Australian Jockey Club's Autumn Meeting at liandwick to-day was the reappearance of Ajax, who rehabilitated himself by winning the All-Aged Plate in good style after making his own pace, and covering the mile in 1.35J, which is a quarter of a second outside the Australian and New Zealand record. The much-fancied Gold Bod was well beaten.

High Caste also regained his prestige when he triumphed 111 the Champagne Stakes over the speedsters Heading, Penthides and Waireka, but the result might have been different if Bonny Loch had not been left at the barrier. High Caste was fully extended to win, owing to getting away slowly. Spear Chief scored a well-deserved victory in the Cumberland Plate after a spirited finish with Allunga. The weather was pleasant, and the course was in splendid order. The attendance was 28,000, a record for the third day. Results:—
