FIELDS FOR SATURDAY LIST OF ACCEPTORS FOLEY MEMORIAL HANDICAP FIFTEEN HORSES REMAIN IN Good acceptances have been received by the Avondale Jockey Club for the first day of its autumn meeting, to be held on Saturday and Monday next. Fifteen remain in the Foley Memorial Handicap, 12 in the Railway Handicap and 23 in the Oakley Handicap, for two-year-olds. Details:—

GOOD PERFORMANCE OLD BILL IMPRESSES Old Bill's performance in the Foilding Cup was very impressive. It was a fast-run race and the winner's time, 2.4 2-ss, equalled the course record made by One Whetu in 1936. Oratory, the pacemaker, was two lengths clear at the straight entrance, but Old Bill went to the front very quickly and won going away. On the basis of his second to Beaupartir in the Queen's Plate, his good third to that colt and Peerless in the New Zealand St. Leger and his Feilding effort, Old Bill should develop into a first-class handicap horse.
