ASSOCIATION GAME

JUNIOR MANAGEMENT INTEREST AMONG SCHOOLS Clubs were well represented at the annual meeting of the junior management committee of the Auckland Football Association held last evening and presided over by Mr. C. t. Ward. The annual report and balance-sheet showed the committee to have had a successful season. In moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, the chairman stressed the need for maintaining the »|- creased interest. He also referred to the high standard of play which had been shown by the junior teams. Several remits relative to alteration or additions to the by-laws were discussed. The question of home-and-away matches for junior grades was sponsored by the Eastern Suburbs and Nortn Shore clubs. Considerable discussion ensued in which the success of t)c present system of centralisation was stressed. On being put to the vote the remit was lost. It was agreed that where a grade is divided into two sections, each section shall be treated as a separate championship. The primary schools' Fub*committcc reported that interest was already apparent anions: the schools and that several groups would be functioning again this season. The death of Mr. R. M. Beswick was referred to by the chairman, who stressed the great loss which the committee had sustained. The members stood in silence as a mark of respect to his memory.
