GIRL GUIDES' CARNIVAL EVENTS AT MORRINSVILLE [FROM OUH OWN COIUIKSFONDENT] MORRINSVILLE, Tuesday A swimming gala for members of the Girl Guides' companies throughout Wuikato and Thames Valley was held at the Morrinsvillo Municipal Baths in perfect weather. The companies represented were Thames, Paeroa, Matamata, Cambridge, Clandclands, St. Maiy's, St. Peter's, Frankton and Morrinsville. In the aggregate for the points trophy Morrinsvilb won with two points ahead of Paeroa. Resulls were:— Big Splash Dive.—Miss Kca (Cambridge), 1; Miss M. May (Cambridge), 2. 33 1-3 Yds., under 13. S. Y.W.C.A. CARNIVAL EVENTS TO-MORROW EVENING In an endeavour to popularise swimming among ladies who do not beloncr 16 recognised clubs in Auckland the Y.W.C.A. will hold a carnivul in the Tepid Baths to-morrow evening. Included on the programme are interbusiness competitions and inter-club contests. Most of the events consist of a series of relays. so that individual competition is eliminated to a large extent.
