RATES AT NORTHCOTE
INCREASED COLLECTIONS The town clerk reported at a meeting of the Northcote Borough Council last night that, with still a month to go, £9169, 'or 86.8 per cent, of the current ratiw struck had so far been collected. This compared with 83.3 per cent for the same period last year. Arrears amounting to £lßl4 were also received, being 53 per cent, compared with 41 per cent Inst year. The clerk was authorised to prepare a new roll under the Urban Farm Land Rating Act, revision being required after being in force for five years.
