FIRST AID CLASSES
ST. JOHN AMBULANCE WORK • Instruction in first-aid and home nursing will be given in classes to be held by the St. John Ambulance Association, commencing next Tuesday with a women's first-aid class. Nursing classes for women will be held the following evening and first-aid classes for men will commence on the Thursday. All classes will commence at 7 p.m. at the ambulance station. Rutland Street. The value of a knowledge of first-aid was emphasised by Mr. S. E. Langstone, secretary-manager of the association, yesterday. He pointed out that a situation might well arise in which any person might be called upon to save the life of a fellow-citizen. If he was trained and prepared for this emergency, he would have no difficulty in performing his task well. The St. John Ambulance Association was the only organisation authorised to instruct the public in first-aid.
