JULIEN CAHN'S ELEVEN FIXTURE WITH AUCKLAND LOCAL PLAYERS FOR PRACTICE The fixture between Sir Julien Calm's cricket team and Auckland will be played at Eden Park on March 17, 18 and 20. In reply to Old Boys' total of 240 for seven wickots declared. United compiled 115 (Petersen l(j, McLaggan 10, Mason 29, Noblo 10 not out), Olsen taking four wickots for 2.1. and Izzard four for 35. Following on, United at stumps had scored 1-14 for eight wickets (Petersen 18, McLaggan 46, Mason 23, Murdoch 31). Olsen taking fivo for 22. Old Boys won on the first innings by 125 runs. Replying to Dargaville's total of 210, High School scored 106 (Burton 16. Weir 12, Dickson 11, Reid 12, Gunn IS not out). Orevich taking live wickets for 25. In its second innings High School compiled 180 (Weir 17, Reid 21, Burton 70, Dickson 30, Sidey 10), Orevich taking four for 22. OPOTIKI CHAMPIONSHIP [by telegraph—own correspondent] OPOTIKI, Monday Two cricket matches were played in Opotiki during the week-end. Otara scored 164 in its first innings against Woodlands (Young 42, Brown 36). McGregor took four wickets for 28 and Pilkington four for 16. Woodlands replied with 48. Conner took four for 12 and Manby five for 20. Woodlands' second innings score was 70 for six wickots. Otara won on the first innings. In the City-Old Collegians match, City failed badly in the first innings, securing only 20 runs (Brown 20). Wells took eight wickets and Smith two. City scored 88 for five wickets in its second innings- (Londrum 35). Old Collegians scored 57 in the first innings. Le Pino secured five wickets and Lendrum three. Drake scored 33, and for Whangarei Masters 29, Nisbet 26 not out and Wilson 20. Bowling for Whangarei Masters took five for 60 and Wilson five for S3.
