WARWICK FARM VICTORY RED SAILS DISPLAYS FORM (Received February 19, 5.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, Feb,. 19 In spite of the fact that she drew an outside barrier position, Waireka (Waikare —Miss Molong) equalled the track repord of 1.7 for. five and a-half furlongs, when she recorded a hollow victory by three lengths in the Ingleburn Nursery Handicap at the Warwick Farm Races on Saturday. The consist- _ ent Red Sails won the chief even's, the, Warwick February Handicap, in which Golden Treasure was unplaced. Linklet ran unplaced in the Minto Handicap. ~ —T~" SPEEDY SUBMISSION TRIALS AT WANGANUf •••. ' BARON BOLD AND AMATORY; i [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN CORBESPONEHXTji WANGANUI, Sunday The weather was fine yesterday and after a dry spell the No. .1 grass tracj?and the outside of the course properwere very firm. The trestles were out; about 12ft. on the course proper, but for half the width of the track water has been applied and there is a good, sward of grass. _ ic Five furlongs in 1.1 3-5 on the No. 1 grass, close to the rail, was the task accomplished by Submission, who had the feather-weight, D. M. Home, in the saddle. The first furlong took 12 3-os. Submission, bracketed with Dynasty, should prove an attractive proposition in the Juvenile Handicap on Thursday. Darthura (M. Home) beat March Easy (S. T. Edwards) by two lengtlis on the course proper at the end of five furlongs, run in 1.4 4-5. Darthura and March Easy, Kai Iwi Maiden candidates, but in different ownership, aire trained by L. G. Butler, and probably; both will start, S. T. Edwards having' the mount on Darthura. ixoi* Entail, with his trainer, W. Rayner, ? ; in the saddle, went a mile on the course--6 proper, taking 1.32 for the last flevon furlongs. War Lap (Edwards) covered, five furlongs comfortably in 1.4. His, prospects in the Tayforth Handicap appear to be bright. After the interval, Baron Boid on this ground recorded 1.4, doing it nicely, and Amatory (Home) covered ;a" mile in 1.45, the first "three furlongs' taking him 41s. Amatory is well placed in the Victory Handicap. " ; r •' ;\ll Spirit (J. Head) schooled over; four hurdles, jumping cleanly but with very little pace ; ,-j* Lady Hoariri claims engagements in; the Victory Hack and the Tayforth Hack Handicap on Thursday, but she,, has schooled well and is to be started in the hurdles on the second day of the Wanganui meeting. To check Amigo's bolting proclivities L. G. Paul was persuaded to try a double-purchase bit, and, with K. Chote in the saddle, the Bean Pere gelding displayed no tendency to bolt when he was cantered and trotted yesterday. If this device proves, effective, Amiga should run prominently in the Flying Handicap on Thursday. TAKANINI HORSES VALAMITO BEATS ROUND OP, On the outer grass at Takanini on Saturday mornings Valamito (Collebt) impressed by defeating Hound Up (Clarke) over a mile in 1.43- —a good gallop.
