Abraham and Williams, Limited, reports a yarding well in excess of advertised bers at Piopio, many excellent lines of ewes being penned. The usual annual draft of four and five-year ewes was the subject of strong competition, buyers being present from the Waikato and local districts. Twotooths were in demand and drew keen bidding. Top price for two-tooths was mado by a line from Mr. Verry bought by Mr. J. W. Dodds at 31s 3d. Nice quality but mediumsized sheep from Mr. J. K. "Walker sold to Mr. E. J. Dalgety and Company, Limited, reports having held their annual ewe fair at Piopio, when over the advertised number of ewes was penned and was offered to an attendance of local, Matiere and Waikato buyers. Annual drafts of four and five-year ewes changed hands _ under keen competition at late rates, _ while two-tooth ewes advanced on Te Kuiti prices. The demand remained firm throughout the salii, practically the entire yarding changing hands at auction. As at previous fairs buyers again showed a marked preference for aged marked lines. Entries of sound mouth lines also attracted attention, but doubtful mouthed and low conditioned, ewes were dull. For four-year ewes Mrs. A. Higginson topped the market at 26s 7d, while Mr. L. G. Verry received 265. Mr. Lowes' draft sold at 25s lOd. A pen from Mr. W. G. Bilton changed hands at 25s 9d, while 25s 6d was paid for Mrs. C. A. Battley's annual draft. Entries from Mr. R. Boddy and Messrs. E. and A. H. Rattenbury sold at 255. In ttie five-year section top price of 21s lOd was cibtained by Mr. J. G. Hunt, while 21s 4d was paid for an annual draft from Mr. J. B Lowman. Mr. L. G. Vcrry's entry of two-tooth ewes sold at 31s 3d,; Alderson Bros, receiving 30s 6d, while Mr. Keith Walker disiposed of his pen at 30s 3d. For a line oil four-tooth ewes Mr. L. E. Young received! 31s, 28s 6d being paid for a pen of four and six-tooths from the same vendor.

WAIPU REALISATIONS [from oub own correspondent] WHANG-AREI, Saturday The North Auckland Farmers' Co-operative, Limited, reports a successful cattle sale at Waipu, there being a good 'entry, consisting chiefly of boner cattle. Competition was keen throughout, except for good quality beef. Prices were at late rates. Heavy Shorthorn cows made from £6 to £7; light fat cows, £4 10s to £5 17s; heavy boner cows, £3 los to £4 tOs; medium, £2 10s to £3 7s; light, 30s; runners, £2 10s; cows and calves, £3 to £G; Jersey heifers, £3; heavy boner bulls, £8 to £10; medium, £5 to £7 10s; light, £3 to £4 15s. Annual drafts from local vendors were «penned and met good competition from a large bench of buyers. Bidding for store lambs was exceptionally keen, with values showing an increase on late sales. Store wethers and breeding ewes were traded at values on a par with those ruling in other centres.
