MINISTERS' MOVEMENTS
The Hon. R. Semple, Minister of Public Works, travelled from Whangarei to Russell on Saturday, crossing the Bay of Islands harbour from Paihia? At Xawakawa he received deputations from the Kawakawa Countv Council the Kawakawa Town Board, and private individuals, mostly farmeni," concerned, about road and bridge access to their land. After a lunch tendered by the local branch of thf? Labour Party, he visited the newl.verected native school at Karetu, where the Maoris presented him with a carved walking stick. At Waimate North Mr. Semple visited the church and vicarage, xvhich are direct Jinks with the days of the pioneer missionaries, and at Paihia he visited the Williams Memorial Church. Yesterday the Minister arid his party enjoyed a day's fishing, arid to-day he visitsdverik keri and will spend the' night at Kaeo. The Hon. D. G. Sullivan, Minister of Industries and Commerce, arrived from Wellington by train yesterdayr and is at the Station Hotel. An inspection of a number of city factories will be carried out by the Minister to-day and to-morrow, and he will also speak • at a luncheon of manufacturers tomorrow.
