HOSPITAL SUNDAY SCHOOL

Sir, —I have not met the young men engaged in this labour of love in hospital Sunday School work, but I had first-hand opportunity of observing their activities. I feel the strictures of the chairman of the Hospital Board and others are altogether too severe. My observation led me to believe the sing-song, for it was largely that, was thoroughly enjoyed by the children, judging by the zest with which all joined in the singing. In any case, children seriously ill are often in separate rooms. I feel moved to relato a personal experience. My lad lay desperately ill in a room off the wards some time ago. I was with him day and night for several weeks before he passed away. On the Sunday before he died he lay unconscious most of the day, when the sound of a happy chorus floated into the room. My lad was very fond of music—lie had joined in the singing the previous Sunday—smiled and beat time with his hand and with his lips followed the chorus. There was one father that day who felt thankful to these young men for helping to create a happy memory which'will last through life. Mr. Macky's stand at the last, board meeting was endorsed by at least one grateful Parent.
