BEGINNING THE DAY
Sir, —I noticed a letter in your paper on Wednesday expressing appreciation of this little service. I have often thought I would like to tell you and the Council of Christian Congregations that I appreciate it, too. While the children look at the pictures, I have my little peep beside them. X used to read them only occasionally until one day I found the verse of Scripture was meant especially for me. It was a very odd verse, too. I'm sorry to say I was about to do a good turn to one person and a smart one to another. As I folded up the paper the verse caught my eye and told me plainly what 1 had to do. I did it—and received my blessing. Another person would have thought the verso obscure in its meaning—but I thought it marvellous. A.B.C.
Sir, —May I, too, express my appreciation of the daily contribution to the Heralu under the above heading. I agree with what has been written during the last two days by your correspondents "J.J.D." and "E.J.," and hope with them to find these messages of faith, and confidence continued. They can only have a steadying effect and act as a mental tonic in these days of political and social unrest. H. D. Crump.
