Sir, —The suggestion of "Didymns" in his letter of the 15th inst. regarding five shilling totalisator tickets at Ellers-. lie is to be highly commended, and will meet with the approval of all the lady patrons, I feel sure. It is quits a problem to find our friends and collect half-crowns from them to make up th» 10s tickets, and under the win-and-placo system two are required if we wish to back the horse each way—imagine the difficulties and arguments ahead uf us! The inauguration of five shilling tickets would simplify the matter, greatly add to our pleasure, and prove a most popular innovation. In England on«> can procuro two-shilling totalisator tickets, but if this plan were adopted here it would hardly meet with the approval of our bookmakers! Dorothea.
