HIGHER LONDON STOCKS DELIVERIES AGAIN FALL PRICE EASIER OVER WEEK A steady market ruled for New Zealand butter in London at the ijloso jf last week. Salted was quoted at 122s per cwf., compared with 122s to 123s a week previously. The price a ye.ir ago was Ills to Fl2s per cwt. I'he market for hot'h Australian and Danish butters was firmer. Stored stocks of New Zealand butter were reduced substantially during; lastweek, the total falling by 1700 tons to • 12U5 tons. SHEEP FOR WAIKATO SHIPMENTS FROM NORTH 4000 STORES TO BE RAILED fur TELKGItAPH —OWN corkkspoxdkntl WHANGAREI, Tuesday The hcavv movement of stock on northern railways is continuing. Thirty double-decked stock waggons containing about 2000 fat sheep went through Whangarei in two trains to-day. The sheep had all been loaded at the Okaihau railway station and were consigned to the Westfield freezing works. This is the largest single consignment of livestock that has been transported in the North bv the Railway Department this season. There will be further heavy shipments next week, when .35 trucks of store sheep will be loaded at Kaikohe for consignment to T'uakau. It is probable that this shipment will go by special train. A consignment of 25 trucks of store sheep for the Waikato will leave the Ruatangata Springs station next week. This will /mean that about 4000 store sheep will be leaving the North for tho Waikato next week. This is said to bo the largest consignment to have gone over tho railways from North Auckland in any similar period. STOCK PROM GISBORNE ARRIVAL AT TAURANGA [by TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT J TAURANGA. Tuesday Consignments of sheep from Gisborne district continue to arrive by the vessel Pakurn for railing to Waikato districts. In the last two trips 5200 sheep were brought by the Pakura, which has now proceeded to Tokomaru Bay to carry a cargo of sheep to Orakei, Auckland. WELLINGTON EGG PRICES HIGH LEVELS RULING " An increase of 2d a dozen on the wholesale price of eggs irf the Wellington market was announced on Monday. The ruling rates are about Od a dozen above those for the same period last year, and 2d to 4d higher than those in February, 1937. Current prices are: —Supers, 2s 4d; A grade, 2s 2d; B grade, 2s.

The Internal Marketing Department expects the market to remain steady at the new rates, although prices will depend on the demand, which has heen abnormal because of the lateness of the flush of the tomato season.

The high prices for poultry at Christmas is also considered to he a contributing factor to the present state of the egg market, in which an exceptionally strong demand has been combined with a reduced supply. The wholesale price of A grade hen eggs in Auckland is 2s o]d a dozen.

CREDIT COMPANY'S RESULTS The directors of Credit and Investment Corporation, Limited, are paying interim dividends for the half-year ended December 31, 1938,- at the rate of (j.J per cent per annum on preference shares unchanged, and 8 per cent per annum on ordinary shares, against a rate of (3J per cent per annum a year ago.
