POVERTY BAY DECISION SHORTAGE OF CATTLE FEED [by telegraph—own correspondent] GISBORNE, Monday

The Poverty Bay Milk Producers and Vendors' Association hns decided to raise the price of milk by a penny a quart, making the price to the consumer 7d a quart. This decision was reached as a result of a shortage of feed for dairy herds. Following the long period of dry weather and the lack of spring growth it was impossible in most cases to make hay or ensilage because of poor growing conditions. Milk producers, along with most other farmers of the district, have been loft without pasture growth and without supplementary feed.
