CAKE OF ANIMALS
AUCKLAND SOCIETY COMMITTEE MEETING The final meeting of tin; year was hold by tlio Indies' committee of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals recently, when the financial statement was tabled by the honorary treasurer. Two funds opened by the executive were discussed, and it was decided to assist by donating twothirds of the money in hand to the new distemper ward and one-third to the Stray Animal Home fund. The not returns from the jumble sale held recently showed a profit of £(>2, and Mrs. Green, as convener, was congratulated upon exceeding the amount collected from a similar activity held the same month last year when £52 was collected. , Those present were:—Mrs. Spencer Mason (chairman), Mrs. Knowles, Mrs. Barry, Mrs. Goodwin, Mrs. Scott, Mrs. Harvey, Mrs. Stone-Martin. Mrs. Brownlow, Mrs. Burke, Mrs. Green, Mrs. Millard, Mrs. Francis and Miss Metdzer.
