ST. JOHN AMBULANCE

SEWING GUILD MEETING PRESENTATIONS MADE A presentation of a wall mirror was made to Miss F, V. Fox at the final meeting for the year of the St. John Ambulance Sewing Guild, held at the brigade office yesterday afternoon. Miss Fox is leaving the staff to be married. The convener of the guild, Mrs. G. S. Cammell, was presented with a crystal vase, in appreciation of her services, and the secretary, Miss E. Bouskill, received a reading lamp, also as a mark of appreciation. Piano and voce'd duets were given by Mr. and Mrs. H. Prince, of Palmerston North. During the afternoon Miss Bouskill read the annual report, in which it was stated that 106 parcels had been received in .the past year, of which 40 had been distributed privately, and through district nurses, and the contents of the rest had been made into bandages. The members had bound 22 blanke ( ts with red, for use in the casualty room. Although only 46 meetings had been held throughout the year, a total of 3160 garments had been mado or mended.

Sorrow was expressed at the death of Mrs. Frederick Smith, mother of the convener, and late member of the guild.
