MATCH ON BOXING NIGHT NEWCOMER'S GREAT RECORD The Auckland public is to see yet another world class wrestling match before the season in Auckland and New Zealand closes. Arrangements had been made for Max Krauser, Polish claimant of the European title, to visit New Zealand and to meet Ray Steele, the Australian and New Zealand titleholder, at the Town Hall on Monday night ne.\t. After his beating at the hands of Steele in Australia, however, Krauser was not anxious for another meeting, and he has cabled his nonacceptance of the match. Cables were then sent to Paul Jones, who is still in Australia, and he is leaving immediately. Steele will be his opponent, and the match, which will be held on Boxing Night, will provide an outstanding holiday attraction. Jones is one of the top class wrestlers of the world, and, until his departure from America this season, held the championship of his native State, Texas, which has produced many famous wrestlers. His peculiar title of "Python Legs" Jones was gained for him because of his use of a unique figurefour"hook" scissors, a freak hold which had won him hundreds of matches. It has not yet been broken. Standing 6ft. ljin. in his stockinged feet, Jones is long in the leg and well equipped for scis»>ors holds. Jones' ability will be readily recognised when it is stated that at 18 years of age ho defeated Clarence Eklund, and at 21 years drew with Strangler Lewis. He has had victories over Joo Steelier, Jim Londos, Dick Shikat, Jim Browning, John Pesek and Bronko Nagurski.
