DAMAGE TO MAST

ACCIDENT ON PORT HUON REPAIR WORK IN PORT As a result of an accident, the fore topmast of the Port Line motor-ship Port Huon was unshipped yesterday for repairs. When the Port Huon was loading at Queen's Wlxarf yesterday morning the jib of a wharf crane struck a stay running from the top of the topmast to the forecastle head. The rigging was strained by the impact and the topmast was thrown out of alignment, slight damage being caused. The Harbour Board floating crane was used to unship the topmast for repairs, which are expected to be completed to enable the mast to be stepped on Monday morning.
