BRIDGE-DECK VESSEL STREAMLINED DESIGN SATISFACTION IN THE TRIALS A modern bridge-deck cruiser, built to the order of. Mr. Y. Salek, by Jl r S. Ford, of Ellerslie, was launched at Central Wharf yesterday morning. Streamlined in design, the new boat is 42ft. by 12ft. Bin., with a draught of 3ft. 6in. She has two cabins in acffli. tion to her bridge deck. The forward cabin is 7ft. in length, fitted with four berths, dressing table and wardrobe. The bridge deck is Bft. long and contains all controls and a. radio. T wo 36-gallon water tanks arc fitted in the bridge deck, one on the port and the other on the starboard side. Immediately aft of the bridge deck is a 4ft. 6in. galley, equipped with all modern conveniences for cooking. The engine, a six-cylinder of 105 h.p is installed under the bridge deck. The main cabin is 9ft. in length and has two full-length permanent and two swing-back bunks. The cockpit is sft long and is provided with ample seaU ing accommodation. A fuel tank with a capacity of 136 gallons is fitted under the cockpit floor and there is also a reserve water tank. The headroom throughout the vessel is 6ft. 3in. and all the cabins are neatlv upholstered. The dinghy is carried iu a cradle on the cabin top. As the vessel was lowered into the water she was named Lady Karita and later carried out her trials, which proved very satisfactory.
