MOTORISTS' COMPLAINTS
WAIRAU VALLEY ROAD 'IAKAPUNA BOROUGH SECTION ; l'he rough condition of the Wairau Valley Road in the Takapuna borough, giving access to the highway system of North Auckland, was the subject of criticism by the members of the council of the Automobile Association (Auckland) last night. The president, Mr. F. G. Farrell, in reporting upon an interview with Mr. F. S. Dyson, district engineer of the Public Works Department, said that the newly-reconstructed section of the Wairau Valley in the Waiteinata county would be available for traffic next week, and would afford a very welcome relief from the temporary detour. The length of road in the valley which lay within the Takapuna borough was sadly neglected, and caused innumerable complaints to be lodged with tinassociation. That it was the worst piece of road between Auckland and Whangarei was the opinion expressed by a motorist who recently returned from a trip to the North. An endeavour is to be made by the association to have repairs carried out before Christinas.
