RUATANGATA OELEBRATES [from our own correspondent] WH AXG A R EI, Tuesday To celebrate the advent of electricity to the district, a social function was held in tho Ruatangata Hall, when members and officials of tho North Auckland Power Board and Mr. J. G. Barclay, M.P. for Marsdcn, wore pre-, sent. The lights in the _ hall were switched oil lor tho first time bv Mrs. F. A. Yates, wil'o of tho chairman ol' the hall committee.
The speakers were Mr. ) Yates, Mr. Barclay, Mr. J. N. McCarroll, ol the Power Board, and Mr. J. A. S. MacKay, chairman of the Whangaroi County Council and a member of the Power Board Mr. MacKny said that the credit for making the electrical undertakings in New Zealand so successful was due in a large measure to the lU.
