HORSES AT TRENTHAM DEPARTURE FOR SOUTH P. BURGESS AND TE HERO B. H. MORRIS* CUP MOUNT [by telegraph OWN correspondent] WELLINGTON, Friday Te Hero has done well at Trentham since the conclusion of the Wellington spring meeting and he will go south early next week for the New Zealand Cup meeting. P. Burgess, who substituted on the Heroic colt after C. G. Goulsbro was injured, has accepted the riding at Riccarton. Te Hero and Burgess got on well together at Trentham and if the colt shows any signs of settling down, the racing he had last week should improve him, in which case he will be one of the fancied runners in the Stewards' Handicap. He would not need to run much better in the Stewards' Handicap than ho did in the Shorts Handicap to have a first-class chance.

L. G. Morris left The Buzzer, I'he Bigot and Daniel Defoe at Trentham and they went south last night. They will be ridden by B. H. Morris when the weights suit. It was stated here to-day that there is a possibility of The Buzzer not taking his place in the New Zealand Cup and that B. H. Aiorris had inquired for the ride on Willie Win, who was to have been ridden by C. G. Goulsbro. J. H. jetferd's team also ;vent soutli last night, lt comprises Rakahanga, Lady Chat, Baran and Lord Midas. Rakahanga is engaged both in the Spring Plato and the Stewards' Handicap on Cup Day, but her mission is intended to be the Stewards' Handicap. Brunhild, Nora Gregor, lddo, Happy Lauding and Le Toquet, who remained at Wellington after racing, are to go south early next week. The Trentham contingent tor the Cup meeting will include Beaulivre, Royal Star 11., Sigurd, Arctic King, Boomerang. Alunga, Peerless, lienor, Hinerawe, White Lady. Prudent Prince and Sunee. f Owing to the death ol Alloa s owner, fllr. Quentin Donald, the programme for this hurdler is doubtful, but lie may go south with other members of T. R. George's tea®. Siegmund's trip to Riecartpn has not vet been decided. If he takes his place in the Cup he will be ridden by W. J. Broughton, who will be on Alunga in the Stewards' Handicap. S. Wilson has been engaged tor Rakahanga, Peerless and Arctic King.
