GIRLS CHOSEN FOR FILM As a result of Mr. Ken Hall's recent talent search in Melbourne, two Victorian girls have beeu chosen for th 3 feminine leads in the next Cinesound picture. They are Miss Joan Deering, or Queen's Road, Brookwood, and Miss Charmaine Ross, of Williams Road, "Windsor. . . , . Both will begin work immediately in a film tentatively named " Mr. Chedworth Hits Out," the production of which has begun. Mr. Cecil Kellaway has returned from Hollywood on loan from R.K.O. Radio, to play the starring part, and Mr. James ltaglan will be the romantic lead. . Three other "Victorian girls—Miss Gwen Izzard, of Woodlands Road, North Essendon; Miss Yvonne Warr, of Orrong Grove, Caulfield; and .Miss Patricia JJavis, of Ballarat—-nave also been approved, and will be given parts in forthcoming productions. Miss Joan Deering, who was born m London, has toured with revue companies in England and South Africa and has played pantomine with Mr. Frank Neil's Company. She went to live in Melbourne three years ago. Miss Charmaine Ross, who is Melbourne born, appeared with the Fay Compton Company. She has also been to London for experience and has done broadcasting work with the British Broadcasting Corporation.
