GROWTH IN 'DOMINION NEW CHURCHES ESTABLISHED [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Fridny Considerable attention lias been paid in recent years by the New Zealand "Baptist Union to widening the sphere ot' influence of the Chrifcli in the Dominion. Aspects of this work have occupied the attention of the New Zealand Baptist Assembly now being held in Wellington. A beginning was made* on the West Coast two years ago -under the leadership of the Rev. Parry., it was reported. A strong church had been established at.Greymouth and there wero several congregations at other places. A new church established this year bv the Rev. F. C. Reddell in tho Dun-e-din suburb of Sunshine was admitted to the Union during the Assembly. As a result of Mr. Reddell's work, the neighbouring district of Green Island also contributed a new church to the Union. The Rev. E. N. Goring has been • appointed to the new church at Georgetown, Invercargill. A separate church has been constituted at Mirainar, Wellington, formerly in tho area of the Vivian Street Church. It will 'be in the charge of the Rev. H. E. Edridge.
