WOMAN'S THIGH FRACTURED HUSBAND ESCAPES LIGHTLY [by TELEGRAPH —OWN correspondent] HAMILTON, ThursdayA collision occurred between an Auckland-bound train and a motor-car driven by Mr. John Prendergast, a retired farmer, of Ngaruawahia, on the old Taupiri Road crossing, just north of the Ngarpawahia railway bridge, this ovening. Mr. Prendergast escaped with a few abrasions, but his wife, Mrs. Mary Prendergast, aged 52, received a fractured thigh. She was taken to the Waikato Hospital in a St. John ambulanco. The car was extensively damaged.
