Sept. 11 A fortnight before sailing by the Rnngitnne for New Zealand to await the arrival of Sir'Julien Cahn's eleven early next year, the* New Zealand cricketer, C. S. Dempster, who is captain of Leicestershire, is to be married to Miss Margaret Jowers, of Leicester. Dempster met Miss Jowers when he made his - first trip to England with a New Zealand cricket team, but it was not until a year ago that they became acquainted. Miss Jowers naturally follows cricket keenly, and she herself enjoys golf, tennis and squash. Her interests are artistic rather than sporting, however, and she has studied music, modelling, sculpture, drawing and painting. As a writer she has published scvernl successful stories for children, and more recently has been devoting her attention to short story writing. . , •
