OVERSEAS LEAGUE
LYCEUM CLUB DEBATE Teams from the Lyceum Club and the Overseas League met at the latter organisation's rooms yesterday afternoon to debate the statement that men are more suitable than women for eminent public positions. The Lyceum Club team, which took the negative side, was led by Mrs. A. T. Garlick, with Miss C. Pilkington speaking second, and Mrs. C. R. Woo Hams third. The opposing team consisted of Airs. .1. T. F. Mitchell, the leader, Miss Anita Webster, and Mrs. E.' L. Burton. The debate resulted in a win for. the Lyceum Club. Mr. Cecil George was- tho j'idge. At the conclusion of the debate, the chairman, the Rev. Mr. J. A. Mclvenzie, thanked the members of the Lyceum Club team and Mr. Cecil George for the efforts they had made, which had contributed so largely to the afternoon's enjoyment. The hostess for the afternoon, wab Mrs. J. T. Gill. Tea was served by Mrs. W. U. Golden, Miss A. Sutton and M iss E. A. File, members of the house committee.
