SCHEME FOR PROTECTION j . CENTRAL COMMAND EXERCISES j [by telegiiaph—own correspondent] | NEW PLYMOUTH, Wednesday I The formulation of a scheme for the! protection of New Plymouth and other' Taranaki towns from attack will be the particular study of senior officers of the Central Military Command when they assemble in Taranaki for a tactical training courso next month. The course, | which will be under the direction of ! Colonel I. T. Standish, Officer Commanding the Central Military District, and Lieutenant-Colonel It. A. How, General Staff Officer to the district, will he. held from October 4 to 11. Officers from all parts of the district will assemble at Stratford, where they will bo billeted, and from there they will operate in the area between Stratford and New Plymouth, studying strategv and tactics for the defence of this part of the Dominion. The solutions of the problems which arc presented in practical strategy will be discussed in conference from every angle. Tho course will include lectures as well as practical work.
