DAY OF REPARATION
ANTI-GOD MOVEMENT CATHOLICS' SPECIAL PRA^RS In accordance with tho wishes of the Catholic bishops of New Zealand, Catholics throughout tho country observed yesterday as a day of reparation for the blasphemy of the Anti-God Congress that is to open this week in London. Similar days of reparation are being held in other parts of the world. In Auckland, the day began with early morning Masses, at which all the congregations received Holy Communion. It is thought that in the city and suburbs alone nearly 20,000 r6Communion. Later in the day
there was Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament in all churches and chapels, and tho people frequented them, making their own visits.
The day closed with special prayers of reparation and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. At St. Patrick's Cathedral, the preacher at both morning and evening services was Bishop Liston, and the ceremonies concluded at tho cathedral with a solemn Eucharistic procession.
