TURF JOTTINGS TRACK AND STABLE GOSSIP When Paladino scored his last win, at Win ton, he put up a track record of 1.39 4-5 for a mile. At the Dunedin Cup meeting, Paladino, conceding 211b, ran Iloseman to a head. To-day there is 101b between them. In the Tally Ho Handicap at Wingatui to-day, are Janet Gaynor and Rosem.au, both in the stable of 1). J. McDonald. On Thursday, Roseman galloped seven furlongs on the plough in 1.29 4-5, doing the half-mile along the back in 48 3-5s —a smart gallop.

M. Jennings, who served his apprenticeship with E. Popo at Takanini, has recently moved from Wanganui to the stables formerly occupied by G. Reid at Waverley. In the stable are Ruaform, Mozeltov, Maahanui, Danamai, Star View, Black Toes, a gelding by Colossus from Mannequin, and a three-year-old by Mullaboden.

To havo figured as the owner of the imported mare Ballymoy 11, tho dam of the dual Riccarton winner Tidewaiter, for about half an hour, was the experience ot' Mr. K. Austin, of the Elderslie Stud. The Irish-bred mare had proved a shy breeder for her owner, the Hon. Eliot Davis, and during a visit to Elderslie he offered the mare to Mr. Austin, and to deliver her to Elderslie i'reo of cost, an offer that was accepted. About half an hour after the gift had been made a telegram was received by Mr. Davis advising him that the mare had dropped dead that morning at his Auckland farm.
