NEW GUINEA CAPITAL
DISSENSION OVER SITE MELBOURNE, Auprust 22 It is reported in Melbourne that the Federal Cabinet has reconsidered the site for the new capital of New Guinea owing to growing objection to Salamaua, which was recently selected to replace Rabaul. A committee of experts, it is understood, favours Lae. Critics say Salamaua is isolated, malarial and subject to blackwater fever and tidal waves.
