METROPOLITAN GUN CLUB The Auckland Gun Club held a cla.v-bird shoot at I'akurnnga on Saturday, the results being as follows: — Seven Birds Rye-opener.—A. Sommcrville (11yds) secured the only possible. ■ B. Hanigan (14yds), C. Bovil ( 14yds) and K. 11. Mackay (1.1 yds) each shot six birds. Fifteen Birds Trophy Match (1.C.1. Trophy).—B. Hanigan (14yds) won the trophy outright with 14 breaks. L. Bedford (llyds), and C. E. Hodge (lSyds), each shot 13 birds. Five Birds Gimcrack.—B. Hanigan (14 to 22yds), L. Strain ill to 10yds), A. Holebrook (1.1 to 10yds), R. H. Mackay (11 to 10yds), C. E. Hodge (15 to 23yds), and F. Curtis (l'_> to 20yds), each shot the possible. Seven Birds Gimcrack. —C. E. Holebrook (11 to 20yds), each shot six birds. EVENT AT MORRINSVILLE CHAMPIONSHIP DECIDED [from our own correspondent] • MORRINSVILLE, Monday The Morrinsville Gun Club's championship for the R. T. Reid Cup was won by E. C. Thoinasen, of Waitakaruru, who shot 20 out of 21 birds, beating C. Webber, a former club champion, who had won the £<ew Zealand clay target championship at Christchurch a week previously. Webber dropped two birds, including the last one. Two shooters, J. McMullan and T. Elliott, shot possibles of nine birds in the second of three rounds for the Tui Cup. Results were as follows: — Eye-opener Shoot, five birds. —C. Webber (17yds), R. Farrow (14yds), E. C. Thomascn (16yds) shot the possible and divided the prize-money. Secoiul Hound of the Tui Cup Competition, nine birds.—J. McMullan (10yds) and 1. Elliott (15,vds) shot the possible. Club Championship, 21 birds.—E. C. Thomasen shot 20 birds. ' Doublo Rise, five pairs.—W. Sharp (13yds), C. "Webher (loyds), E. C. Thomasen (14yds) shot eight birds. . _ Gimcrack, seven birds.—E. ELECTION AT TAKAPUNA The president. Mr. J. McGregor, presided over a good attendance of members at the annual meeting of the Takapuna Gun Club. The president, who did not seek re-election, thanked the officials, committee and members of the club for their support and co-opera-tion during his term of office over the last five years. . In view of his interest in the club. Jlr. McGregor was unanimously elected the club r first life-member. The election of officers resulted as follows: —Patron. Mr. C. A. "Whitney; president. Air. A. The official opening of the season will take place at the club's grounds, Barry s Point. Takapuna, next Saturday. The arn H l J^ will comprise a 15 birds trophy match with other sweepstakes.
