LONDON LECTURER'S REVIEW A thorough and comprehensive survey of social doctrines in contemporary British philosophy was given by Dr. T. Greenwood, lecturer in logic at Birkbcck College, University of London, in a public lecture at the Auckland University College Hall last night. Dr. Greenwood is visiting the Dominion for the purpose of writing an impression of the country for a group of British, American and European newspapers. , The approach of man;v schools of thought to the problem and their conflicting doctrines were analysed bv Dr., Greenwood, who discussed the ethical,; psychological, biological and anthropological attitudes to the question or social development. He drew a contrast between the modern idealistic and realistic .theories.
