Not only was the interest o local enthusiasts yi the bout roused to ai unprecedented degree, but also the result wa recognised by tho contestants as one of ex ceptional importance and they, as much a the general public, arc anxious that th result should be settled without dispute. Lopez was particularly keen on this poin and it was largely because of*representation! from "his quarter that ho had been given les: than justice that the return bout was booked Lopez came forward with an offer to men Blomfield on a winner-takoall basis, a stipula tion which Blomfield had no hesitation ii accepting, and, consequently, the bouf wil be renewed on that basis. This will add fur thcr to the keenness of the contest, wliicl was bound to have been fought with tin utmost rigour on cither side in any case. In view of what occurred last Monday nighi there is no doubt that the exchanges 01 that occasion will pale into comparative in significance when the men meet again on Saturday, as, in addition to the matter ol personal prestige, there will be a big monetary prize awaiting the victor, with no contpensa tion for the loser.
