COMMITTEE'S REPORT ENSURING CO-OPERATION MEASURES DISCUSSED By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright L'ritish Wireless RUGBY, August 1 The Inter-Governmental Refugee Committee has issued a report which states that Mr. Myron Taylor, the United States' representative, made a statement to the committee analysing the scope of the problem of' emigration from Germany, including Austria. MeiAbers of the committee will continue to exchange information as to contributions they are able to make in a co-operative effort to find a solution of the problem. The committee al:;o discussed two questions left to it by the Evian meeting- Regarding the first, namely, the scale on which the expenses of the committee should be apportioned among the participating. Governments, an agreed recommendation was made to the Governments represented. Regarding the second, namely, means for ensuring co-operation between the committee and the director, Mr. George Rublee, a distinguished American lawyer and refugee services of the League of Nations and the International Labour Office, the committee accepted the view that in order to ensure this co-operation the High Commissioner for refugees coming from Germany should be invited to be represented at the meeting of the Inter-Governmental Committee. At that meeting questions concerning the admission of involuntary emigrants into countries of refuge and settlement are discussed. Also the director of the International Labour Office should be invited to be represented at meetings at which questions affecting migration are discussed. Mr. Taylor told the committee that it must budget for an exodus of 600,000 from Germany in five years. They would include Jews and halfJews, members of religious orders and Austrian followers of the late Dr. Dolfuss. At least ]6 years' emigration would ho packed into five. This success is the more remarkable in view of the fact that American Jews had warned him not to come tr London, declaring that they liac already "bled their co-religionist: white." Nevertheless, Eddie Cantoi raised £9OOO at a midnight picture show in London, £IO,OOO in Glasgow £II,OOO in Leeds and £23,000 in Man Chester. Sir.Lionel Halsey, an Extra Equern to the King and formerly Comptrollei to the Prince of Wales, offered Cantoi honorary membership of the Nationa Sporting Club. The comedian's parting message was "Never allow anti-Semitism to become a blight in England "
